A Self Made Man
By daiglepoems
I get my thrills and chills
where many have found death.
Unidentified pills
with liquor on my breath.
You watch with breath abated
as I tackle the untried.
Premeditated accidental suicide.
You label me as "crazy".
Maybe stupid.
Never nuts,
but demarcation's hazy
when you haven't got the guts.
I crave excitement.
Adventure.
A short across high wires.
A short term fix will never cure
my terminal desires.
When unthinkable's the norm
the un-do-able gets done.
The unknowable takes form.
Makes a man like me shun
conventional authorities
with all their can's and cant's.
Shivering sororities
of weak kneed sycophants
seeking shelter in a keep.
I'm a little more complex.
Little Bo Peep.
Tyrannosaurus Rex.
So-called safety just encumbers,
inhibiting the view.
Try to scare me with some numbers,
I just divide by two.
You won't just means I will.
Say you can't, I say I can.
Build a simple minded shill,
I'll build a self-made man.
