Polytics

By daiglepoems

A most peculiar animal.
Peculiar indeed.
Big and fat.
Short or tall.
No agility or speed.

Its brain's what it relies on.
It sits around and thinks.
Ponders the horizon
and looks for missing links.

Conceives itself its master.
Negotiates with God
to avert His next disaster,
but what really makes it odd,

It thinks man has a soul
to offer up for sale.
Keeps his brothers in a hole
and leaves a paper trail.

Impose its will on others
with different sets of rules.
Acts like we're all brothers
and plays us all for fools.

It says we should be grateful.
Got it better than the rest.
Legislations by the crate full.
Double faced and second guessed.

It takes away our rights
with lefts and uppercuts.
Hisses, growls, and bites
Always targeting your nuts.

Beware its bag of tricks
and lessons history teaches
Poly just means "many"
Ticks are blood sucking leeches.

This was great and I feel like I've found a kindred spirit! Check out some of my political poems if you care to and let's educate the misguided innocents. Cheers and welcome!
