say you remember me

By alex herewane

say that you remember me
let the road drive you home
and in the quite of this lazy afternoon
thought dreams, scream!
chilli prawns and chardonnay
music to carry the clouds away
don't say you will, don't say you'll stay
don't let the future get in the way
I touch your arm, skin on skin, I kiss your eye
there's only this time, don't ask why
open the cage let yesterday escape
I want to be there when you awake

I wrote you a song when we were both sixteen

Christine, Christine it's been a very long time
the last time I saw you, you were standing there
and the wind it kept blowing your long blonde hair
Christine, Christine it's been a very long time
that's all I can remember, but I remember you
say you remember me

whispering forevers and losing the line
I looked for you in crowded city streets
air line passengers and train station seats
I saw your eyes in every bueatiful womens face
and here we are in a realm of light, dissolving into chaos
dissolving into the heart of energy
dissolving into you
say you remember me
