14 Billion Years Ago...
By Polaris
Torn apart
A former shell
I inhale devastation
And exhale
creation
Stretched across my conscious mind
Compressed
and turning
Existence burning
Within my space life grows anew
Swelling to the surface
A violent explosion
Floating
animation
Dancing in gravity's absence
Drifting through
darkness
All Engulfing
Gaining momentum
Scanning the
horizon
Leaving trails of carbon
In my wake

Hit me like a submarine-fired ICBM to destroy the North Star (HA)! So good to find a kindred spirit since I have a degree in zoology, but never used it much. Cheers to you!

I didn't know the big bang could be so poetic. Check out my 13 Haiku work, one of the haiku is about a black hole you might like it but anyways I'm feeling your science themed poems.

The evolutionary process never had it so good. The thing that leaves me in total awe of the world we live in is the incredible diversity of life and even though 99% of all species are now extinct oh what amazing creatures they must have been. I feel your poem is a tribute to this and I tip my hat knowingly.
