Frosted
By Dragonfly
I can no longer turn to look at you without you being with him
or
memories flooding over; images of skin against skin.
Those memories
of summer sand that slowly melt the cold
the memories of your warm
hands that tightly gripped my soul.
Kisses on your forehead and breathes
heavy, deep
we went from crawl to running over one nights sleep.
Our love was like a child growing all too fast
and as it grew so
vigorously we knew it would not last.
It ended in agreement a final
kiss goodbye
but the reasons that you left me were only just pure
lies.
You didn't think of me when you left
only thought of him
and how I was second best.
Golden words scrawled on paper for everyone
to see
those words made up of memories of the love called you and
me.
Burning up that paper to forget what I have lost
cause now
that empty fire will have to melt the frost
