Happy

By Dragonfly

"How about something happy?" she whispered into my neck
with her arms wrapped around me and now that she's left

Something Happy...

Like the way your hummed a melody only you could understand
the way when you were nervous you'd tightly grip my hand.

The way your kisses tickle as they gently brushed my lips
the way that your would giggle when I touch your hips.

The way of when you were happy a smile seemed to speak
the way that same old smile hid the havoc you would wreak.

The way that when you liked it you'd loudly beg for more
the way that when you didn't you'd march right out the door.

The way you lied to me
wait.... This is supposed to be happy.

The way your touches brought me back into this life
the way your whispers caught my breath and made me want to die

The way your giggles echoed and danced around a room
the way your laughter spread and always seemed to loom.

The way that when you left me you left a single note
the way that even your goodbye seems silly even as you cross the coast.

The way your note seemed happy and made me want to cry
the way I still believe that note was just a lie

The way you wanted something happy to read
something happier than you and me

Well hear you go dear after plenty of weeks that feel like years
This is my happiest poem and it brings me to tears

If we're all alone- at least we're together in that :) Your work is beautiful.
