Steal my Soul

By Dragonfly

Thaw out my heart.
It's worth it I swear.
Step on battle grounds.
Even soldiers won't dare.

A pile of memories,
high as the eye can see.
Some long forgotten
waiting for me.

I trudge to your fortress
stingily lit,
looking for heaven
a place for me to fit.

And there tall you stand
an angel in this decay
and there like a seraphim you fly
taking my soul away.

Stuck in this battlefield
with a heart made of stone
waiting for you
to return with my loan.

Yet days turned to weeks
and weeks into months
and with no avail
no matter how many hunts

I accept that your gone
but why must you take
the only thing
that I keep at stake

Nicely done, there was one small part I stumbled at briefly in the middle, but other than that it was great. Scholar
