The Little White Lie Called "Love"

How can we love
When love itself is a lie?

“Do you even have a heart?”

Yes, I do
And it lays inside of my chest
Pumping blood
Not this myth we call
Love

So cynical, I suppose
But why should I let myself fall
For lies and cliché?

Love is just a little white lie
We tell ourselves
Because we are afraid
Of being alone…

Not the best of my work but anyway...This might create some kind of controversy, so I just want everyone to know that: I am not against love...I know a lot of people can be in love and be happy, but these are just my feelings :)

whenever i hear someone say love is a myth, i can't help but wonder if they think their mother cared for them out of pity. i believe 'love' is a morphing instinct.. it can easily be mistaken for hate.

I agree, Love is an instinct for some people. I mean, love can come so easily to few lucky people but for others, it's a hard feeling or instinct to adjust to. Us Humans are falling so far from instinct, though. You know how many mothers kill their children now a days? It makes me sick :C But thank you for sharing your opinion :)

even a serial killer will tell you killing is a form of love. whereas apathy is nothing more than inverted love. prolly why narcissist tend to be an emotional drain. :)
