"Afterthought"

By Grim_Sorrow

beauty begs
the basic bind
the flow of words
the thoughts divine
awaken hearts
enrapture minds
take heed in hopes
words that define
syllabic trust
encumber still
the fading thoughts
the weak of will
forgoing words
the thoughts descend
and with this subtle grievance
ends
with heavy hearts
a heavy hand
the mind departs
yet still we stand
the passive days
the restless nights
the pen delays
and still it writes
for at an end
we find our place
this sullen look
our fall from grace
we raise our glass
now raise our hands

this time will pass

that's how it stands

So subtle and powerful at the same time. Aptly named. Reads beautifully aloud, such flow, and plays long after in my head. Excellent write! Scholar

  • A former member wrote: even after your long breaks you are still eloquent as ever.... trying to escape the pervasiveness of inevitability.. Scholar
