Midnight Chimes

By Wiccad

Midnight chimes awaken me from slumber
Playing a melody of what I have to wonder
Shadows casting over my bed
The moon tonight seems blood red

Thoughts of the day rushing my sleepy head
Is it possible to wake up dead?
I feel cold and stiff and full of dread
Thinking only of the things I said

My eyes burn from angry tears
Darkened circles have now appeared
Heartless were the things I spoke
Not caring of the things I awoke

Don't forgive me of this my dear
I was only trying to pass on my fear
Be angry and be pissed off
Do not allow me to brush this off

Punish and banish me from your heart
Or I will repeat and tear it apart
I don't deserve what you have given
Forever in time I am unforgiven

wow, I dub thee unforgiven... that was so good... your emotional visions are the best.... "punish and banish me from your heart"... such a great line, thanks...

The last line did it for me..I enjoyed this read.. Thoughts ponder and poison the air around..your aura..never leaving you alone..Yet you're made to destroy that which is your antidote...Written well..very thought provoking..given little information..the possibilities to what you said are endless..
