Getting Gone
By Dreamzz
The baby cries
almost to ask why.
Why am i not fed
he does
not realize maybe one day he too will be dead.
The child
plays all day long
sings a simple nursery song.
Does not realize
there is work to be done
he just knows he must have fun.
The teenager just wants to stand out
not be about what every one
else is about
but if everyone is trying to standout and be proud
isn't it just joining the crowd?
The adult works all day
for such small pay
comes home and works again too
for their
little children who once again have no job to do.
The elder
creeps along real slow
their back is hunched shoulders held so
low
talking about the times when young
when they made mistakes
oh so dumb.
The dead is not gone
no not yet
as long
as they are in our head
they will not sleep in their casket bed.
The gone are not truly gone
they just have fade away
but maybe tomorrow they'll just be dead
not yet fade to gray

Going through the life cycle...it eventually comes full circle doesn't it? If you live long enough you become almost childlike and dependent again. Sad really. Good subject matter.
