My Humble Abode

By TheFailedCaterpillar

The quiet, calm, out of the way
sleep all night and sleep all day
Forest Cabin, in the woods
not a backward glance, let alone words
The finest place, a sight to see
Where time dare not pass, not in front of me
You'll sleep the soundest sleep to sleep
You'll eat the finest meat to eat
You're family won't argue, not even once
Back here in theĀ darkĀ forest redwood

You have arrived

At first it's nice, but nothing great
You'll never feel as if you ate
You'll toss and turn, but not awake
with or without a vigorous shake
You try to leave, get as far as the road
Your family stares in horror
Your back, at my humble abode

Well...one can always dream. Very nice piece. It gave me the feel of a fairy tale gone dark.
