grow(l)

By skully

Frantically rushing around looking for a new place to go

Or for an old memory to grow in silence, alone

Was it worth trying to find a flow through the damn, which is your heart?

Damn your drowning heart the twisted dance of your love

What was it for you was it romance or was it simply finance?

Love is something that I thought I did by accident

But there’s a certain rhythm to live, which I don’t quite understand

Waves breaking on yesterdays dream crushing it

A Poseidon annihilation of hope, of aspiration

There’s a perverse reason for life, I’m sure

I don’t want to talk about love cos love is shit

It hurts I heard, the only thing to get in the way of birth and death

From when the water breaks, to when the

Last breath burns. Life may unfold. But love will never make sense

"A Poseidon annihilation of hope"... This is completely pro. It rolls off the tongue in such a lovely way and I'm always a sucker for anything myth-oriented, provided its well-situated within the framework of a good poem. Which this is. Dig it!
