The Ossuary

By DescendingDown

He spoke in riddles
That swam (contorting) in my mind

My tongue lay numb
As if it's begged to move for days

Teeth grinding behind my stale prosthetic smile

(My demon's laughter ensues..)

Cuz he crawled under my skin & I'm bleeding
In my lungs & I'm sinking
3 more shots & I'm drowning
In a gluttonous affinity for my own pain

My emotional scars
Ripped & torn
By the jagged edges of love's regret

& I scream at the stars
For cursing my mouth with the sour taste of deceit
As the mists of sorrows past
Sew shut the secrets of my quivering lips

"3 more shots & I'm drowning In a gluttonous affinity" -- totally dig this line, as well as the ending, I agree with Lolita it was sort of like a sudden stillness following the explosion. Tres bien.
