Untitled Numbness

Untitled Numbness

I doubt the faith of my own heart
What chance, what hope, to second start
It's only in my head, you see,
Or is it between you and me

The coldness that I feel anew
Is as the numbness felt in you
This nagging, despaired, hopelessness
This aching sorrow so repressed

I doubt the love that blinds my mind
And fear the future, fear to find
Our spirits scared and scarred again
That even friendship  fails to mend

-----

crashing dark and chilling cold
the spray of ravaged battleground
seeing nought but weak and old
sinking further into sound

submersed into a liquid night
each bitter drop squeezed fervently
you seek a way to end your flight
but time will bring insanity

How many tears are left this day
How many times you cry alone
You know there is no other way
And deep inside, you've always known

Someone so good is not for you
You'll just bring pain and heartache new
The truth is there and plain to see
Just walk away and let things be .
