moments lapsed in time
a solid image of the windowpane
covered in rain
the smell of it rolling off of your skin
beneath my fingertips
as i tried to memorize the feel of you
counting the seconds between your heart beats
your life blood
beating against my cheek
wondering
when
i was going to see you again
when you would come storming back into
my town
my life
again
i never had you for more than a minute.
so every second had to be savored
trapped forever between the pages of my memories
snapshots hidden behind retinas
so i would always have you,
even when you were never there.
you are so imprinted on me
i could probably sketch you
with my eyes closed.

Another gentle, beautiful piece! Love these new ones! Great imagery of impressions left in the external world that are fleeting, that nonetheless have such an enduring impact internally. Ciao, T/S
