Halloween

By Dianas_Eclipse

Samhain.
All-Hallows Eve.
Halloween.
Call it what you will
but it's my favorite day of the year.
Crisp fall air
interrupted by the wind in
gust after gust of anticipation.
Anticipation.
We wait. We wait to celebrate.
Excitement thickens as the sun sinks low
bathes the sky in blood.
Finally, the moon rises
and lights the world
with her silver glow.
Faces hid in the joyous masquerade
we venture out into the night
out for treats
and the occasional fright.
Come with me,
release your inhibitions
and unleash your desire.
This is Halloween
and my spirits are high.
