Dresden Dolls
By Syringe
No Amanda Palmer
To salvage
This slaughter...
...Dresden
Has burned and the dolls
Have turned to
Porcelain bombs
Napalm grins
Set off rifts as they
Detinate and infiltrate
The tattered streets
Placing devices in the crevices
Breaking the skin
Of society's intentions
Marionette
Marionette
See how they pirouette
Along the asphalt stage
With such grime and grace
They are as sly
As they are conspicuous
Breaching the premise
The cords which hold them together
Enable them to move in one accord
Making a noose
To nurse
The aching wounds
Of the lost ones
Let loose
[I told you they're vicious]
The malicous tactics
They misuse
Are not to be confused
With target practice
We're the dummies in the way
Watching dumbfully as they play
Us like wind up dolls
Wind us up and watch us go
We're the idiots
In this show
Marionette
Marionette
These puppets are not
One to play with

you know I'm surprised you didn't get more comments on this...I love the dresden dolls...this is a very unique dedication indeed. It's hard to write a poem about a band like that and pull it off alright. nice.

thank you for the comment, but honestly this poem was not intended as a dedication to the band itself. I love the band..their skills kill...but I wanted to make a piece about twisted dolls and the band name suit the tone perfectly...everything just kind of fell into place
