Lained Ni

By lord_beanus_christ

Between the lost
and the loved
there are sparked explosions
like fireworks
or oceans
with darkened depths
you and I
could never hope
to understand
and yet we try
by joining hands
or joining hearts
and tearing them apart
to create distances
within which
there are sparked explosions
like fireworks
or oceans
with darkened depths.

Between the days
and the nights
there are constellations
like needlework
or soft clouds
with changing shapes
you and I
could never hope
to understand
and yet we try
by sharing tea
or sharing wine
and forgetting with time
to create past patterns
within which
there are constellations
like needlework
or soft clouds
with changing shapes.

Between the right
and the wrong
there are balancing scales
like mediators
or morals
with hard meanings
you and I
could never hope
to understand
and yet we try
by fighting laugh
or fighting frown
and knocking peace down
to create decisions
within which
there are balancing scales
like mediators
or morals
with hard meanings.

So maybe
we do understand
after all.

Hmmm. I wholeheartedly agree with Aoi. Your prose is breathtaking, and your thoughts seem somewhere along my own, albiet more eloquently arranged. Write the hell on, man.

By far one of the most potent and reaching poems I've read in some time. Take a bow, poet. ~b
