I Pray So Hard

Here we are…
Just you and I…
standing alone under moonlight snow nights in a desert of our past. We used to be so far and free, living in that fruitful jungle love, never dry of passion like now.

But it’s not the same.
You’re not the same.
Neither am I.
I never expected it to stay that way I guess.

Latenight walks and stolen kisses under shooting stars just aren’t what they used to be, and life isn’t what you see but just what you hope. All the painless days and endless nights are coming to their expiration date and I’m feeling dizzy with a dull anticipation for it all. Angel wings and pretty things are wilting in my hands along with all the smiles we used to share. I’m counting all the old memories like scars you left for me as love tokens. You tell me the bad ones don’t count but that’s all I can remember thinking it’s what led up to this.
Our utopias only 666 miles up but our slashed wings can only carry us to the 7th St. Walmart. I sigh and see us as a shadow from a long time ago tracing our names on Venus- my only happy reminiscent.

Please please how I pray so hard for a better tomorrow…
