Fish Roll

By Virgils Vigil

It moves as if alive.
It smells as if deceased.
Flesh cascades collapse down its circular side.
It sits with wings spread,
Waiting for me to take it away;
Out from this world and back into it again.

    Sounds like a big mouth sleeper maybe, or possibly a stargazer. Both formerly trash fish but now highly prized (for food). So your catch and release would be in another form perhaps? Cheers!
