I've been thinking...

By asphyxia

...a lot lately of going rogue…

and unclenching a fist.

|

I’ve never cared for slick tongues slipping past me covered untruths.
If you were the snake, my paradise would be lost,
due to my forfeiture of the battle against temptation.

You devil.
With your strong ability to perceive a blue heart true
and your methods of persuasion used to have your way-
gilded words of reassurance uttered only to keep the rope in my hand.

You parasite.
With your thirst to suck dry all my color, preying upon me like a lone sheep.
You must have radar vision to be able to track such a perfect victim.

All safety pushed aside…

I was foolish enough
to have shut lids
as our souls danced.
And I stumbled.
Three words fell out
to combine- a universal gem
of fierce proportions.
It shattered.
I fell.

Skinned knees
and hands
[of blood
and shiny pieces]
stung.

But I got up
and carried again the braid;
straggling behind a yester year
that wasn’t even a good time.
It took miles
to learn how to breathe again
and not age away
in the safety of no more risks.
How dangerous
security can be.

But my lungs
are full, deep seas of courage.
And although I am on a mere
one-or-two person boat,
I’m wearing my jacket.
I’m prepared.

The skies are clear;
the tide is no where in sight.
I am here.

But you aren’t.

Above you the clouds are black and brooding.
Whitecaps dash across the stirring obsidian of the ocean.

A heavy wind blows your favorite hat overboard,
and the ears of Judgment Day are listening.

G1 for making me cry in your bed right next to Sleeping You.
HIT!

G2 for every line I caught in this game, that you threw.
HIT!

G3 for helping me forget that I deserve more.
HIT!

G4 for informing my father that his little girl’s a whore.
HIT!

…and forcing a friendship, to top the tip…

YOU ARE AN ASSHOLE!

…but I just sank your Battleship.
