This world
By Winter Born
In this world,
Where global rage is our only real religion,
Where murder and rape is almost ignored,
Churches are abandoned
Priests are running out of altar boys…
In this world of money and lawyers
Where our hero’s can get away with anything,
Pop stars molesting
Rap star urination,
Murder on the vegas strip
No leads
No suspects.
In this world of digital interfacing
Our children grow dumb
Stupidity and violence advocated on T.V.
The only parent most of us knew…
Our education in flashing images
How can a school compete?
Video games
More vulgar
More violent
Better graphics…
Blood splatter so real.
Is it any wonder why the youth of America are jaded?
In this world of violence and porn
Laws conflicting
Murder is illegal
But random slaughter gets you bonus points while stealing cars…
In this world of pain and confusion
No wonder our fists have become
External manifestations
Of our internal frustration…
This society of indifference, greed, and hate
Produces people who have no conscience
People who will kill without thought
People who will stay and fight
People
just
like
me…

Came back to this again...because I love it I guess. "Pop stars molesting, Rap star urination." Cracks me up in such a sad way.

are we really all just products of our environments? i would like to think not...even though there is always going to be bad stuff around us does that mean we must reflect it?

I like that this focuses on such a strong issue.. I enjoyed this very much. The blinded eyes do see the chaos..
