Mortal Kombat Memories

By Rebel_not_Radical

I was only 1/3 the age requirement
when i knew of one of the
greatest joys of life

Other kids walked or maybe cycled
around the block in the hot
summer days of '95

But I was Mortal Kombatting my ass back then
it was real kool and krazy as
we started to substitute all "c"'s with "k"

And I spent whole afternoons
trying to make the other guy's player's
head roll off, burn, get eaten
and if I were lucky...
His head would get impaled on spikes

I know i was wierd back then having
been obsessed with such

The simple things that made me smile
pressing buttons in the air
and thinking of nothing but being the strongest
while staring blankly into empty space

And I look back at it all
it wasn't the plastic box that made it special

It was those who stood beside me
Laughing when we killed each other off...

~inspired by my friends i have left behind
and those who i will be leaving shortly

Here's to my 4 years in high school

  • A former member wrote: this brings back memories -we did the same after school-street fighter 2 (sweetness) or Mortal Kombat -I liked subzero - you could rip the spinal column or kano -grab the heart but he was a bit sh*t other then his death move.

Didn't like the challenge that SFII brought because you could cheese the ass off your opponents...it was great but none like MK I, II & III...
