There Was A Dragon

By A Burning God

I saw a dragon rise out of the forest,
Towering above the foliage
Staring with contempt at those below him
Wanting to kill them all
For they were weak,
Except for one...
He feared me, I could tell that when he looked at my eyes, my essence
He saw the raw power inside
He heard tales from others,
How this one stole their power,
Made them useless, less than whay they were in centuries past
He also knows me through the "other" kind of dragons
Only because he saw me playing with those magestic beasts,
Relishing in every moment,
Although, to him, it looked like an all-out war,
Between me and a dozen dragons,
But, it was only play, as he remembered
Unfortunately, he'll have to watch his back
For I may be lurking in that forest,
Craving more power for myself
Then, he'll succumb to my power,
And be no more...
