Silent as Death

By Shewolf

I stare silently
at the paper
pen in hand....
The words that once so easily
flowed from my pen
are silent.
I find the pain
being too great
to put into words
leaves me cold and barren
of thought.
Once Vibrant, so Young
So full of Life
and Laughter
Forever stilled
By an act of Recklessness
For now you sleep for Eternity
Wrapped in mahogany and satin
Covered in Earth
With a cold Marble Stone
For your headboard.
My heart breaks
Along with the hearts
of a hundred Others
My soul cries out
From the unfairness of it all....
Yet my pen remains as Silent
As Death....

Ah, beautiful and tragic words. Sad, but very nicely done.
