Pick Your Rose
By Muse
Roses drowning in their own passions
Thorns bleeding black down the razored stems
Butterflies with flaming wings alight on
Silken petals deceptively inviting
Plush cushions on which lords rest
For them to suck the sweet life away
Sugared copper to flow through their bodies
Lifting deadened souls to insanity
Maddened laughter lights the air
Sparking through the pressing velvet darkness
Shadows close around to mock the light
And smother it with sinister glee
Listen to its wails of strangled terror
As it slowly cracks
Crushed beneath the weight of its ever-present
.nemesis.
Pick Your Rose
And
In Turn
Your Demise

The sweet smell cuts my throat with "...sinister glee." A garden of flowering images. Fantastic.

You captivate me in your poetry, the flow the music that plays in my head just sweeps me away to anywhere you want with your poetry...
