The Longing of a Vampyre
By Shewolf
I lie beside you watching you sleep
Envying the delicate firmness of Youth
Beautiful…..
Lucifer
The Most Beautiful
Would fall at your feet in Envy
Adonis
would be blinded by your Radiance
I watch the pulse in your throat
So Tempting
I ache, almost gently,
To sink my fangs into your neck
And taste the sweet
Elixir of Life
But I cannot.
For your Beauty
Is too great
And your Soul
Too Pure
For me to Destroy
I could take you
Into my World of Darkness
Where your Soul
Would wither and die
Your Heart grow Cold
But I dread think of you
In that Existence.
Your brow furrows
As if sensing my Thoughts
I ache to sooth your mind
And tame the Nightmares
That frolic there
I dare not touch you
For your Essence
Would burn me as readily
As the Sun
Daylight approaches
I glance at you longingly once more
And vanish into the Darkness.
