The Aftermath
By Crimson Shade
Though your eyes have opened,
And the truth you do behold,
Those tears you feel building,
You forbid them to roll.
The smouldering image of death,
Of her will not be forgotten,
This loved ones passing,
Forever I wish to nothing.
Now the grief is building,
And inside it does hide,
Gnaws at your beliefs it does,
Your faith withers and dies.
Now the funeral has come,
And your speech you do prepare,
All the words seem empty,
And your throat does go bare.
The shadows now close in,
And a single tear does roll,
Your grief begins to surface,
Leaving nothing but a hole.

the title drew me in..i was thinking it would be different than what i expected, and i wasn't disapointed. this sung in a melody all of it's own, in the most elegant way.

Impactful and harmonious, every stanza. You've such an eloquent approach to giving voice to devastation. These words have made a presence of their own. Thank you.

You simply amaze me!! Raw, bitter, sweet but yet sad! Just absolutely great! You are most certainly an OVERLOOKED brilliant writer here!
