Abandonment

Life cannot feel any worse.
The father is dying,
Saying that he has less than ten years,
The mother still treats the first-born like the husband
Both brother and sister have turned against the first-born.
The one person he trusted his life with
Has betrayed him, for a first love.
Friends leave his side,
Making him take on his hardships alone.
His two elders who he could tell and ask anything of
Have passed to the other side.
Suicide has crossed his mind,
But he cannot cut himself to pieces.
He finds release somehow, but he’s falling fast.
Soon, he will lose himself,
And quench the knife’s thirst.
