"Rapacity"

By Grim_Sorrow

transient thoughts
vehemant cries
failing
an abrupt close to this enigmatic wonder
this
self worth
value
measured in property
menial tasks
a procured manifesto
my life
invested
hence the irony
that
what one works so hard for,
another gains in brief instance
the petty theft of ones hopes and dreams
their meaning
their defining feature
lost,
What is worth
what is value
not this
the subtle idiosyncrasies of an unkempt mind
left with nothing but these thoughts
idol memories
forgotten
to remember what you had
worked so damn hard for

and lost
