Flat Line
By virginalnympho
When tears graced my face
You found it appealing, even divine
My pain was my greatest attribute
My sorrow intoxicated your soul like wine
The slashes on my wrist
Signified pleasure and desire
And the crimson river taunted you
Igniting your soul in a yearning fire
You found my kisses sweeter
When they were laced with toxic substances
The danger enticed you
My drug coated lips tasted like second chances
Whenever I threatened to leave
A smirk flashed across your face
Taunting me, daring me, challenging me
Knowing I had no choice but to stay in my place
It becomes clear you will be the death of me
Luring me demonically into anguish
My life morphing into a prison
Secretly I await my inevitable finish
And when I crash to the floor
Clutching at my chest
You are instantly tempted to touch
Attracted to the labored rise and fall of my breast
My breaths become shallow and dense
And I struggle to whisper, āIām fine.ā
You laugh, the irony so comical
The machine goes silent, as I flat line

crazy prosaic poesy... a tale weaved with rhyme punctuated with melody gentle and drifting... nice
