If Only It Were That Simple

I wish that I could look at the bigger picture.
I wish I could realize that my actions affect my future.
I wish I could believe that my life has so much to offer.
I wish that I could make an effort to find something positive about each
day.
I wish that I was positive.
I wish that I could accept my environment and make the best of it.
I wish I had the will power to stop looking for things that will only destroy
me.
I wish I could take advantage of the priviledge to be away from my family
and their abuse and negativity.
I wish I could realize that each day is taking me farther away from that
life.
There is no point in getting upset about that time.
It's over. It wasn't my fault. I was never brought up with a permanent,
supportive adult. I protected myself. I did what I had to in order to survive.
I wish I could realize that my life doesn't have to be that way anymore.
