"spring air leaves an air of silent remorse" (1.26.05)

By Buckwise McDickermeat

we walked, so staggered, so desperate,
like the weighted shoulders we leaned on would last eternally,
if only for the moment we needed them.

we held our hopes high in the bringing to close of past affairs,
where each stalk could grow in a rebirth of congeniality,
those leaves rustled, so crisp and perfect,
spring air leaves an air of silent remorse.

speak softly traffic heart,
for as these moments tremble
they're fleeting, but they're still there.
