80 Hour Drive

By AbjectColloquialist

What could be so important
to keep me away from you.
Nothing short of death should separate us.
But there was nothing I could do.

Every mile between us
is a pin in my voodoo doll me.
Every thought I have of you,
Makes my heart beat again.
And, when it beats it hurts
Its the pain that keeps me alive
Its the pain that pushes the pedal
On this 80 hour drive.

Im running out of bracelets to send
The scars show from shoulder to end
A timeline Ive kept since we parted ways
I count the marks, I count the days
Since Ive felt your touch
Since Ive felt anything at all.

A man turned to me at the station
asked where I was going
I turned to him, dried my eyes and I said
"Happiness, If it will take me back."

the flow of this piece is amazing. I love your expression, the simple styling and energetic pulsing that pushes this along, much like listening to your favourite music while on a long drive. just awesome. Thank you.
