Frustration

By PaperPromises

My frustration is spelled out in the tears
As they slide continually down my cheek
For once my guard is down to my fears
I sit trembling; for once showing I'm weak.

I hate to let anyone see past my eyes
I know they won't understand what lies in my mind
I would tell them all my feelings if I could
But every word I utter would simply be misunderstood.

I hate to let you see me bleed openly like this
Hate the way my knees are breaking under this pressure
Hate to let you know this vulnerable side of me exists
That at times, though I cover well, my heart is sore.

So I'm frustrated to the point of my break
I cry much more than I can possibly take
Inside my heart's beyond its hardest ache
For once I can't smile and tell you I'm o.k..

"I hate to let anyone see past my eyes" is such a true statement. Ithouroughly enjoyed the entire poem, especially the first two stanzas and the last line
