Outside of Ourself

By Soulseeker

Love was suppose to make this world stronger,
making the demand to live last longer.
Love was suppose save everyone when the were once denied,
it was to make failure vanish with the saying "I tried".
Love was suppose to last forever,
and it promised to somehow put people together.
Love was suppose to have only joyful tears,
and erase the memory of lonley fears.
It was said to make the world go 'round,
and fill silence with a heavenly sound.
Love once promised loyalty and a safe place,
it never judged one's character by the face.
Love was suppose to lurk in everyone's soul,
yet somehow the world forgot and now hate is in control.
Friends, family, and lovers have all turened their backs,
and happiness is what we all seem to lack.
I guess they somehow forgotten love's definition,
and more than once denied their intuition.
A vast shadow has parked in love's place,
and we have lost grasp of its every trace.
I ask everyone to take a good look around,
fate still tells love outside of ourself can still be found.
We so often get caught in ourself and get lost,
and like everything else selfishness has its cost.
Can't we just step out for a while,
and give love a running trial?
Break loose and reach out to the better side,
then at least you know you tried.
Out side of ourself love IS there,
we just simply have to learn to care.......
