A Feverish Ranting
By asailorsangel
A feverish ranting
Began to suffocate her perception
As she stumbled both
Blind and deaf through
The haunting corridors
Of her past
Feeling her way through
The quandary of bleak and clammy
Doorways to the memoirs of
Her departed soul
To the one, the one who once
Held her captive with his light
And allowed her ears only
To hear his drumming
To the one she has
Rummaged the heavens for
In search of the abandon pieces
She fought his fists that
Clenched with resistance
Unbroken she turned the knobs
Of pink ribbon and white lace
In search of the one
That led to the decadence of
Her childhood
Where she once
Believed in unicorns
Never ending rainbows
And that her spirit was
Free to become whatever
She could imagine
Through the swinging door
Of adolescence where her
Beliefs were ravished and
Dreams became distorted images
Lost in a barrel of intoxicated
Violence where words were
Used as weapons to destroy
The apparition of the woman
Being developed
Standing at the threshold
Of maturity her character is
Like a cold and barren land
Waiting for the heavens to open
And cast a shadow to the next
Passage that has the power
To make her complete
