Heart-Shaped Clock

By Invader Lyn

I stepped into the night

red lights flash silently
hear your movements violently
I can wait

turn with a start

leaves fall all around
between us on common ground
I came too late

the night grows colder
we grow older

it's all the same
I still remain

with a lightening crack
the heart-shaped clock I made my pet
the alarm that I forgot to set
I loved you and you loved me back

romance cinema takes its toll
end credits forget to roll

and it's still the same
and I still remain
in the name
of pleasure and pain
