Scent of Spring/Shadow of Winter

By Litteratus

The blossoming redbud paints across the cloudless sky
The earth-bound red blood of forgotten lives.
Sweet perfume stifling a buried cry,
Call forth swarms from my heart's hive!
Drown my woes in the essence of your nectaries,
Let the pains dance and dissolve in the breeze!
"Forget death and decay, just be!"
Says all that I taste, touch, and see.
Time will pass and the flowers will fall,
I will age and silent Death will call.
Yet in the Present I am wrapped in Bliss,
Even though a redbud root shall my skull kiss...
