Mirror

By Heart of Stone

I see a woman in front of me
and I swear, I see the pain in her eyes.
The way she hides it all with a foolish smile.
Everyone thinks she's tough
But what they don't see is that she's weak
She has no inner strength
Waking up with a smile
and falling asleep to the sound of her own cry.
She has ways to escape
but they criticize her for them
Her heart grows colder everyday
realizing that it is no longer worth it.
There is only one thing she lives for
One thing she loves.
And he is her's
He is there making her live
Breathing life into her.
Though she is barely holding on...
She will stay strong for him.
