Little Memories
By Anaelle
A little more dolled up than usual
The smell of candles
Melting wax
Spreading across a glass table
Random shapes that seem planned
Nearing coke in a glass...
Old touches become new
With lips so soft, I wonder if they're silk
And a moment last's a lifetime
When there's only you
But the clock is saying 6:13...
Though I already have goosebumps
Skin rises to a fingertip's caress
Only to be chilled by the night air
Walking with stolen breaths
I saw the tears in your eyes
(I had already deemed them precious)
When I was still able to stop mine
Though that lifetime only lasted a moment
But you kissed them away
Stealing the salty wetness from my cheeks
Your footsteps still echo in my ears
As the sound of rustling, dead leaves
On a tree that's been bare for months
Drifts through the air
Only to be caught
By the subtle sound of windchimes
Red noses become redder
With even more tears shed
Despite the cuddling on a couch
Which only leads to the bedroom
With stolen pleasures and caught moans
How the candle light flickers off your skin
The sensual play of shadows across your face
From each movement you make
No matter how demanding
And there's nothing I can do but smile
As a memory is taken
Of the way your lips feel under my fingertips
And the curve of your own smile
Though 1am rolls around, with the lone drive home
And the lingering smell of roses in the car
