be honest with yourself and others

By anathema

no matter how bad
your day has been

there is someone
out there
having a worse one

it's nice
to have luxury problems
isn't it?

it's nice
to complain
on a full stomach
warm flesh
dry head
unbroken skin

you say
you can't live to see tomorrow?
that no one understands your pain?
that you are alone/unloved/unseen?

you say
that you
have
nothing
anymore?

you should be ashamed of yourself.

When I lay my head down at night I always find three things to be thankful for. Even on my worst day I find three. I also remind myself how lucky I am when I walk out of the grocery store. Spot on poem. JD

ooooh...I do agree with this. There comes a time when you need to take responsibility for your own actions, however, depression and other mental states can be so powerful that they override all logic. This piece is very effective though. Fox

Each persons pain is thier own, and equal to all others in that sense, so you shouldn't feel so petty towards other people for it

please. if people in Africa, who watch their parents, brothers and sisters, children even, die of disease, get wounded in war, etc., and yet still manage to make it through and survive, there's no excuse for anyone else.
