A well lit enemy

By frost bite

This corner feals jagged
but yet comforting
this floor damp, full of cracks
yet sturdy
the smells rancid and rank
yet inviting

sit in an almost fetal position in the corner
with no light, you know nothing is behind
only ahead
questioning the saftey of yourself
the comfort of hearing youself breath
don't dare move, not here, not now
there are echo's of scratching on stone walls
a dim flicker in the distance
can't fall asleep, can't run
hope the darkness stays
though you wish it were gone
if light were to come, what would it reveal
no, darkness will keep me safe
nothing can hurt me here
as long as i don't move or make noise
the light can't find me
I am safe in the darkness, it embraces me
any thought or fealing may come to me
thats all that is needed
with light could bring horror beyond what I already have
so stay, stay in the darkness until you pass on
the light is too much, the light is our enemy
the darkness shrouds us so we don't need more light
light has taken some.. but not me, not us
