Her Navy Guy

By Peyton1

"My Navy Guy!"
What she so fondly called him back then

With a sad sigh,
he longed to hear her call him that again

~

He didn't believe at all in love at first sight...
and still doesn't

He saw it only a spell, magic, a trick of light...
but it wasn't
~

He forever gave up his heart for hers instantly...
having never even met

Knowing from the start she was a divine entity...
why isn't she here yet?

~

He had a thousand things all at once to say,
he got short of breath every time at the start

Not always important, mostly just stuff day-to-day,
but words to her always straight from his heart

~

"I love you, JUST you." That's what he used to say,
He meant every word back then and he still does today

~

His world was shattered, ripped apart, then she stole away his sorrow,
He needed her as much then......as now......as he still will tomorrow

Their passions once ignited bright as the sun.....much hotter than a solar flare

~~

Navy blue sweet nothings.....whispers through the intoxicating smell of her hair

~~

Her car rolled down the drive.....she said "It can wait!!" so it just stayed there

~~

She pulled him quickly into the shower.....still in his clothes but he didn't care

~~

Rain on the beach only turned up the heat.....hours into her eyes he would stare

~~

Walking away she smiled and winked.....it toppled his already leaning chair

~~~
~~
~
He'd try to separate thoughts from visions from memory from fantasy,
if only he could-
It all became a blur...
~
Were he able to re-create a single day to repeat through all eternity,
he gladly would-
If only to know her...
~
He sailed the world on the USS Kennedy, aircraft carrier...
once a strong confident sailor, and hardened warrior
~
But these days at sea, he's always alone, forever adrift...
The USS Broken Heart, edge of nowhere, caught in a rift
~
Life without her is too much...
the very essence,
of
precariously
perched
on
a
crumbling
ledge
Do wish him the best of luck...
or her presence,
before
he
falls
backwards
over
the
edge
