Going for Gold

By Kovine

The way we speak
Smile
Breathe
Laugh
A slight inflection here

The hard times are hard
The sad times are sad
But through it
We write lovely things

And speak even lovelier things
To the people we love
To the people we don’t know
A silent prayer

It doesn't have to be pretty
I like the ugly things
just as much

Speak your thoughts
Say the first answer
That comes to your mind
I want to know what you have to say

In this language
In that language
In any

Heavy are our burdens
and the absence of things held close
Blurring past us
Like running a yellow light

No regard
These fast times
And fast tears
Please, Just say it

This got to me, there's a beautiful truth and sediment within these words and you penned them spot on.

Just say it is right. I knew a really big man who was really introverted. I got him to take MDMA once and he finally spoke and spoke with clarity. About the things he loved, but mostly the things he hated. He was always a friend but he became a brother after that. The crazy things we got into after that night I will remember for a lifetime. I do still feel sorrow at our growing apart as we grew up. Thanks for sharing.
