Oscillating Fan

By Kovine

Maybe indulging in each other’s bodies
Wasn’t enough to satisfy the hunger I feel
Beckoning from within my confines
Always asking for more
Always seeking more
Like a gluttonous dog
Afraid to starve

Chew your food, take your time.
It’s not going anywhere
You don’t have to hold your breath
And close your eyes
In anticipation of the worst anymore
But accepting generosity isn’t easy

I crept into your room
It was a habit
Peering over the edge expecting to see something terrifying
Holding my breath hoping to hear the rise and fall
Of your hollow chest
Are you alive?
In the back of my mind I didn’t want you to be
But I crept into your room nonetheless
Unable to rest

I’m going to overflow
With the words I can’t say
They’ll bubble up like vomit one day
And hopefully then
I’ll be relieved, if only for a moment.

Yes, the cadence of it, matches something with, tells the heart where and when to beat. Something very powerful in this. “I’m going to overflow, with the words I can’t say”. Wow. Beauty in agony

This was both exhilarating and horrifying in equal measures..Evocative and powerful piece so brilliantly written. Write the hell on :)
