Endless Loop
By JustAnEarlyBird
A sheen upon the brow,
Undertones of green
And grey
And blue
Lips, a crescent moon
Tears,
Melancholy's late night
Moody tune of
Rattling; Coughing
A prayer
Or two.
Time, a fumbled mess
Followed by...
What day is it?
Tinted lids of pink
An ocean of white waves
A mask to mask
The cordless puppet's face
Waxing, Waning
Lips of wax
Overlined
Unwelcomed
An earthly hole
Heavy box
Far too light
Floral purple covers
In a tomb of jewels
An abandoned Temple,
Hidden in a sea
Of junk.
Useless mementos.
Dirt on wood
Carvings in a rock,
Late to arrive.
A prayer--
Or Two!
Lace of Navy blue
Just for you.
Only,
No more you

I feel like a mistake, most days. Like there's something wrong with me by comparison with this world. I say, fuck the world. I don't need the rest of them to live on.

When a well-wish, or condolences sounds like cursing. A smell of flowers that changes what the smell of flowers means to you forever. Time heals. But what good can that do for a person who is forced motionless while time goes on without them? Snowstorm nailed it: SURREAL. But also too real. Feels so personal. I almost didn't comment. But I've been to that valley. And so I say thank you, and please write on. I'm a fan.

Interesting piece, I like the way the images flash by and your point of view comes across as a disconnected observer. Very much how surreal a funeral can feel. Great job! Ciao, T/S

Yes. Surreal is a good word for it. It's taken me a year to piece all the moments together, to make sense of it all. I'm glad you enjoyed reading this piece. And Thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate it!
