Greedy

By RedWolf

Temptation whispers in the deep stillness of the night
Tendrils of shadows to pull you from the light
Just out of reach a need you can't refute
Wistfully longing for a sweet forbidden fruit
Stealing a little taste to see you through the day
A gentle caress to wipe the tears away
But beware the thorns every rose is sure to possess
Lest the snaring brambles cause you some distress
Should your greed become more than you can bear
Head the warning, and save yourself a prayer
