never felt so alone

my mind in a daze
I don’t remember where
I left my soul
not certain I really care
hoping, waiting for
someone to throw me a bone
a desperate craving
never want to be alone
 
wish that I could believe
that everything will be all right
why is no one there to
wrap me up and hold me tight
whirling confusing thoughts
of seeds another has sown
all the while still
left here all alone
 
shrouded in darkness
wanting to simply forget
the nightmares and the pain
all the things I may regret
encircled by those who love
my heart motionless as stone
inside don’t you see
I’ve never felt so alone
